Poppy:
Poppy has been great this month. After her operation at the end of January we have seen a massive improvement in her growth (mainly due to the ability to feed her via a PEG tube.) It has been nice to find some kind of routine and have less emergencies with her health.
Her hair is growing and her nails have needed cutting (These are all signs that she has enough energy to do more than just stay alive!)
She has still had at least one medical appointment every week but most of them are now at our home due to the community teams of nurses etc...
Harry:
Harry has enjoyed lots of fun activities this month. He tried some Chinese food as we visited China Town in Liverpool for the New Year Celebrations.
Harry has been eating his dinner really well and has even filled up his reward chart - earning him some Power Ranger toys!
He also attended Holiday Bible Club and despite the noise and being a little bit scared we were amazed at how much he learnt.
Harry has been praying some great prayers that are now more than just "Thank you for Mummy and Daddy and Poppy", he is praying about the Bible stories that we have read and asking for people to get better or thanking God for something from that day. We are amazed at how God is working in his little life.
Amy:
Amy has enjoyed the relatively routine existence that we have stumbled upon in the last few weeks. She enjoyed her Birthday celebrations and was overwhelmed by the love and support from her friends.
Amy has been able to enjoy motherhood a bit more now that Poppy is getting stronger. She has also started to enjoy her Maternity leave and feels more comfortable getting out and about, meeting up with friends and attending Baby Massage Class, Baby groups and the occasional Costa Coffee!! (Other Coffee shops and Cafés are available!)
We have booked a week away in April (in this country) and hope that it will be a beneficial time to rest, recover and recuperate before Amy returns to work.
Jamie:
I have had a tough month. It has been good to chat with Sydney about lots of issues but mainly about University, workload, my expectations of myself and perceived expectations from others. I must stop looking 4 years down the line to the end of my degree and focus on what God is teaching me today and how that will shape me tomorrow. What can I do today to build upon, learn and apply what God is teaching me?
I have come to realise afresh that God is in control and His way is better than mine.
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen."
I have had a few little emotional pick me ups in the month with my parents visiting and Carl coming to stay for one night. HBC was an amazing event to watch. For me it all came together on the Sunday evening when the church gathered to give thanks for all that God had done that week. We had some feedback, reports, singing and best of all was the prayer time.
I have several assignments to get done this coming month and must get cracking on with them. I think that I have been a little more organised and purposeful with my time this month and pray that it will continue to be like that in March.
Sydney, Jodi and I have been reading 2 John, 3 John and Jude each day of the month. Next month we plan to read Philippians every day... I can't wait.
I am on a bit of a mission to lose weight again. Before I broke my ankle a year ago I had got down to 13 stone. I have quickly returned to above 16 stone but have made steady in roads to reducing that to below 16 stone. (Watch this space).

For those that Pray:
- Thank you for your prayers for Poppy. God has answered SO MANY prayers. Specifically for her growth and development. We praise God for the Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses and other Health care people who have done so much for her.
- Please pray that Poppy will continue to grow, develop and get stronger.
- Thank God for the way that He is working in Harry's life. Prayers have been answered for him also. He loves Poppy SO much and is very gentle. He is still only a 4 year old boy and has his moments.
- Please pray that Harry will be able to understand that Poppy is different to him and will always require specific attention from us and others. Pray that he will understand that and that we can balance our time and attention between the 2 of them.
- Thank God for our friends and family who have helped us through this month and loved us in so many different ways.
- Please pray that Amy will be able to enjoy being a Mum and will grow in confidence to take Poppy out and about. Pray that we can take Poppy swimming soon. Harry, really wants to teach Poppy everything he knows!
- Pray for my assignments, that I would be disciplined and that God would call to mind everything that I have tried to learn and read.
- Please pray that Amy and I would stay close to God. That we can keep our once a week breakfast date where we can pray together for a longer period of time. Pray that we will be united in vision and purpose for our family. Pray that God would always be at the centre of all that we do.
- Pray that I would lead my wife well. Be a great Dad to my kids.
- Please also pray that our Church would really get excited about what God has done through the Holiday Bible Club and that they would be enthused to love the people in Halewood, to serve them, pray for them and get along side them so that we can share the amazing news that we have.
Thank you for reading this months Blog.
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and for ever. Amen."
